Fall is here! (Or at least Indian summer.) This is my favorite time of year on the Emerald Coast, and a fantastic time to get out on the water to do some fishing!
Offshore August is a great month for catching a variety of fish. At the docks you can see Vermillions, Kings, Black snapper, Tripletails, Kings, and Amberjack as well as the occasional bonus fish like chicken dolphin or wahoo.
Offshore It is July and it is HOT! Red Snappers were the main target for the beginning of the month but there have been lots of Kings, a few Groupers, tons of Vermillions, some Amberines and even a few Cobia caught by local captains and anglers..
Offshore Red Snapper season opened this month for a solid 6 week run after only being open on weekends (in state waters) for the beginning part of May. We have had some great catches but the Snappers are not as thick nearshore compared to normal for.
The weather and the fishing are heating up in Destin, with plenty of Amberjack, Cobia, Triggerfish, Vermillion, and the first King Mackerel of the season. Cobia, kings, and amberjack made up the bulk of the last couple days of catches. The triggers.
