We may have had a mild winter, but winter wasn’t done with us just because March rolled around… Cold weather and gusty winds put a bit of a damper on our ability to run fishing trips this first month of Spring Break, but sunny skies are ahead!

Offshore

The first Cobia of the season have hit the docks. Bottom fishing is yielding vermillion snapper and the occasional gag grouper as well as red snapper (catch and release on the red snapper). The first spanish mackerel are just starting to show up along the beach and inshore, so you can troll for those also.

Inshore

The sheepshead bite is on fire right now inshore in Destin, using primarily live shrimp around the structures. You can troll through the deep waters of the bay and find spanish mackerel also.

As always, if you’d like to get out on the water and do some fishing, be sure to check into our fishing charters and fishing boat rentals!
