The Destin Boardwalk stretches a quarter mile along the historic Destin Harbor, a project completed in June 2012 to provide greater waterfront access and preserve the charm of the World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.
A walk along the Destin Boardwalk is a must during your visit to Destin. Enjoy scenic views of the harbor, soak up the sun or take in a breathtaking sunset, and explore a wide variety of local activities. The Boardwalk features boutique shopping, popular restaurants, kids’ attractions, access to great watersports and boating experiences, photo opportunities, and a front-row view of Destin’s famous charter fishing fleet.
Where to Shop
On the west end of the Boardwalk, HarborWalk Village offers upscale resortwear boutiques, designer shoes and sunglasses, jewelry, specialty food stores, and more. As you head east, you’ll find booking booths, attractions, and convenience shops lining the path.
Where to Eat
The Destin Harbor Boardwalk is home to some of Destin’s best-known restaurants, including Harry T’s, AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar, Dewey Destin’s, the Boathouse Oyster Bar, and The Edge Seafood Restaurant. Many of these restaurants also offer Cook Your Catch options—perfect for those enjoying a fishing trip in the World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.
For the Kids
Families will find plenty to keep kids entertained along the Boardwalk. Popular spots include the HarborWalk Mining Company, where children can "mine" for gemstones, arrowheads, and shark teeth, and the inflatable water balls, pictured here:
Kids love running around in these water balls!
Another fun activity is feeding fish at night using the fish food dispensers at The Edge Seafood Restaurant, where underwater lights illuminate the water for a unique experience:
And of course, don’t miss the chance to watch boats return to the docks with their catches of the day:

There are also plenty of fun photo ops, like this one at AJ's:

The Destin Boardwalk hosts events year-round, from fishing tournaments and parades to fireworks and the annual Destin Seafood Festival. There’s always something exciting happening on the harbor:
The Boardwalk runs from the east end near the Destin Yacht Club to the HarborWalk Village on the west side and is open year-round. Public parking is available in multiple nearby lots, free of charge.
