Fall has come (Indian Summer, anyway) to the Emerald Coast and brought with it a good Vermillion Snapper bite with quite a few Mahi scattered around, some Kings and some Amberjacks. After chasing those fish around for a few days it was time to get to chase Red Snappers again for the 3 day labor day weekend opening. We had to work pretty hard to catch them the first day but the bite got better and easier as the weekend went on. Now we are back to catching Mahi, Scamps and Vermillion snappers along with the occasional King or even shark. The captains are enjoying being able to change up what they are fishing for every few days. Keeps things interesting!
The fishing has been great this past week in the bay and you can expect to catch a lot of redfish and a few speckled trout.
Things will slow down for us over the next month and we will pull our fishing boat rentals from the lineup in November to spruce them up and get them ready again for Spring. Some of our charter boats will be getting new motors and otherwise being fixed up as well. It’s been a busy season and the boats have run hard. Make sure to stay tuned to our fishing reports as we will update you when we get back to fishing in March!
